چکیده

We propose two packet merging policies; T-policy and N-policy, during data collections of small sized packets from a large number of sources in order to mitigate the effect of telemetry data traffic. The T-policy and N-policy are to merge small sized packets after a waiting time T and N packet arrivals, respectively. The effect of two packet merging policies on a given network is analyzed in terms of routing cost and average collection delay. The result shows that the T-policy outperforms the N-policy at most cases. However, T-policy is more sensitive to the dynamic traffic condition than N-policy.

A Reliable Data Collection Protocol Based on Erasure-Resilient Code in Asymmetric Wireless Sensor Networks

This paper presents RECPE, a reliable collection protocol for aggregating data packets from all the sensor nodes to the sink in a large-scale WSN (wireless sensor network). Unlike some well-known reliable data collection protocols such as CTP (Collection Tree Protocol) that uses ETX (expected transmission count) as the routing metric, RECPE exploits ETF (expected transmission count over forward...

Tree Cluster Based Data Gathering Scheme (TCDGS) in Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have an important issue in dynamically organizing the sensors into a network and routing the data from sensors to the base station. Clustering in WSNs is an effective technique for prolonging the network lifetime. The effectiveness of WSNs purely depends on the data collection scheme. Various data collection schemes such as multipath routing, tree, clustering and...

A High Performance Parallel IP Lookup Technique Using Distributed Memory Organization and ISCB-Tree Data Structure

The IP Lookup Process is a key bottleneck in routing due to the increase in routing table size, increasing traıc and migration to IPv6 addresses. The IP address lookup involves computation of the Longest Prefix Matching (LPM), which existing solutions such as BSD Radix Tries, scale poorly when traıc in the router increases or when employed for IPv6 address lookups. In this paper, we describe a ...

Network Design with Coverage Costs

We study network design with a cost structure motivated by redundancy in data traffic. We are given a graph, g groups of terminals, and a universe of data packets. Each group of terminals desires a subset of the packets from its respective source. The cost of routing traffic on any edge in the network is proportional to the total size of the distinct packets that the edge carries. Our goal is t...
