The Empirical Content of Games with Bounded Regressors

چکیده
This paper develops a strategy for identification and estimation of complete information games that does not require a regressor that has large support, nor a parametric specification for the distribution of the unobservables. The identification result uses a non-standard but plausible condition on the unobservables: the assumption that the joint density of the unobservables of all agents is unimodal in the sense of achieving the global maximum at a unique point. Also, a threestep semiparametric estimator is proposed. Under mild regularity conditions, the estimator is consistent and asymptotically normally distributed. The estimator is non-standard in the sense that the estimators of the intercept and interaction effect parameters converge at slower than the parametric rate. An intermediate result concerns identification and estimation of the direction of the interaction effect. JEL codes: C14, C31, C72, L13

(Un)Bounded Rationality in Decision Making and Game Theory - Back to Square One?
Game and decision theory start from rather strong premises. Preferences, represented by utilities, beliefs represented by probabilities, common knowledge and symmetric rationality as background assumptions are treated as “given.” A richer language enabling us to capture the process leading to what is “given” seems superior to the stenography of decision making in terms of utility cum probabilit...
متن کاملPointwise Tracking the Optimal Regression Function
This paper examines the possibility of a ‘reject option’ in the context of least squares regression. It is shown that using rejection it is theoretically possible to learn ‘selective’ regressors that can ǫ-pointwise track the best regressor in hindsight from the same hypothesis class, while rejecting only a bounded portion of the domain. Moreover, the rejected volume vanishes with the training ...
متن کاملOptimizing plant traits to increase yield quality and quantity in tobacco using artificial neural network
There are complex inter- and intra-relations between regressors (independent variables) andyield quantity (W) and quality (Q) in tobacco. For instance, nitrogen (N) increases W butdecreases Q; starch harms Q but soluble sugars promote it. The balance between (optimizationof) regressors is needed for simultaneous increase in W and Q components [higher potassium(K), medium nicotine and lower chlo...

Introduction: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is among the most prevalent medical-psychological diseases in children. Finding treatment methods to improve these individuals is very important, scientifically. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of motor games by Montessori education theory on the electrical activity of muscles in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity ...
