چکیده

We carry out simulations of a lattice London superconductor in a magnetic field B, with a finite magnetic penetration length λ. We find that superconducting coherence parallel to B persists into the vortex line liquid. We argue that the length scale relevant to this effect is Λ = φ0/8πTm. 74.60.Ge, 64.60-i, 74.40.+k Typeset using REVTEX

Superconducting Coherence in a Vortex Line Liquid: Simulations with Finite lambda.

In high Tc superconductors, thermal fluctuations are believed to melt the ground state vortex line lattice at temperatures well below the mean field Hc2 line [1,2]. The resulting vortex line liquid has received intense theoretical and experimental study. In particular, recent “flux transformer” experiments [3,4] on YBCO show that superconducting coherence parallel to the applied magnetic field ...

Helicity modulus and Meissner effect in a fluctuating type-II superconductor.

The helicity modulus for a fluctuating type II superconductor is computed within the elastic medium approximation, as a probe of superconducting phase coherence and the Meissner effect in the mixed state. We argue that at the vortex line lattice melting transition, there remains superconducting coherence parallel to the applied magnetic field, provided the vortex line liquid retains a finite sh...

Phase transitions in high-Tc superconductors and the anisotropic three-dimensional XY model

We carry out simulations of the anisotropic uniformly frustrated three-dimensional XY model, as a model for vortex line fluctuations in high-Tc superconductors. We compute the phase diagram as a function of temperature and anisotropy, for a fixed applied magnetic field B . We find that superconducting coherence parallel to B persists into the vortex line liquid state, vanishing at a Tcz above t...

O ct 1 99 9 Transitions between different superconducting states in mesoscopic disks

Using a linear analysis, we study the stability of giant–vortex states in very thin disks. The vortex expulsion and penetration fields are obtained for finite thickness disks from a numerical solution of the non-linear Ginzburg–Landau (GL) equations. Using an extension of the London approximation, in which the phase distribution of the order parameter is prescribed and the superconducting elect...

Vortex-line fluctuations in model high-temperature superconductors.

We carry out Monte Carlo simulations of the uniformly frustrated three dimensional XY model, as a model for vortex line fluctuations in a high Tc superconductor in an external magnetic field. A density of vortex lines of f = 1/25 is considered. We find two sharp phase transitions. The low T superconducting phase is an ordered vortex line lattice. The high T normal phase is a vortex line liquid,...
