JET CUTTING TECHNOLOGY 2 nd - 4 th april 1974 cambridge . PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENTATION ON COAL CUTTING IN
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper describes results of a factorial experiment on coal cutting at a traverse speed of 5 meters/min, with water jets at pressures between 500 and 2,000 atmospheres and nozzle diameters in the range from 0.5 to 1 mm. These results fill a gap in the existing results on coal cutting with water jets and form the basis for the design of a coal cutting machine. The interrelationship between pressure and nozzle diameter as this effects the specific energy of cutting coal is investigated and it is shown that for a given pump horsepower it is more effective to use a large nozzle diameter and accept a lower effective jet pressure than to increase the jet pressure by use of a smaller nozzle.

Development of a site-specific regression model for assessment of road-header cutting performance of Tabas coal mine based on rock properties
In underground excavation, where the road-headers are employed, a precise prediction of the road-header performance has a vital role in the economy of the project. In this paper, a new model is developed for prediction of the road-header performance using the non-linear multivariate regression analysis. This model is able to estimate the instantaneous cutting rate (ICR) of roadheader based on r...

The process of material cutting and fracture by high velocity water jets is a complex series of phenomena which may involve compression, tension, shear, erosion, wears, cracking, wave propagation, and cavitations damage. This makes the exact analysis of the jet cutting process to be very complicated. The problem of water jet coal cutting is a multiresponse problem. There are two output variable...

Prikaz stanja The first medical applications of this technology were published in the eighties of the last century [1], when a jet of water [6, 7, 8, 9] was used for cutting soft tissues [1, 2]. There are currently no available relevant studies exploring in detail the use of abrasive waterjet cutting in orthopaedic surgery for the implantation and re-implantation of total hip and for knee repla...

متن کاملFuzzy Ahp Based Decision Support System for Technology Selection in Abrasive Water Jet Cutting Processes
Abrasive Water Jet (AWJ); which may be accepted as a relatively new and nature-friendly technology for the industry, can simply be defined as the technological process that uses a transformation of the high-pressure jet to the high-speed waterjet as a tool for cutting substance, specially materials. As this technology has the ability of cutting some multicomponent materials in all directions, w...
