Model Reduction from an H 1 /lmi Perspective

چکیده
This paper treats the problem of approximating an nth order continuous system by a system of order k < n. Optimal solutions minimizing the H1 norm exist for k = 0; n ? 1. This paper presents an iterative two-step LMI method for improving the H1 model error compared to Hankel norm reduction. As an intermediate step, the algorithm nds a generalized balanced realization such that the n ?k Hankel singular values coincide.

Model Reduction using LMIsA
This paper presents an iterative two-step LMI method for improving the H 1 model error compared to Hankel norm reduction. The improvement of the Hankel norm reduced model is usually not signii-cant, typically a few percents only. For practical use the LMI reduction scheme is usually not worthwhile , but it can be interresting from the theoretical and principal point of view.
متن کاملSolving Path Following Problem for Car-Like Robot in the Presence of Sliding Effect via LMI Formulation
One of the main problems of car-like robot is robust path following in the presence of sliding effect. To tackle this problem, a robust mix H2/H∞ static state feedback control method is selected. This method is the well-known linear robust controller which is robust against external disturbance as well as model uncertainty. In this paper, the path following problem is formulated as linear matri...
متن کاملAalborg Universitet H / H 2 model reduction through dilated linear matrix inequalities
This paper presents sufficient dilated linear matrix inequalities (LMI) conditions to the H∞ and H2 model reduction problem. A special structure of the auxiliary (slack) variables allows the original model of order n to be reduced to an order r = n/s where n, r, s ∈ N. Arbitrary order of the reduced model can be enforced by including states in the original system with negligible input-to-output...

متن کاملA Linear Matrix Inequality Approach to H 1 Control
The continuous-and discrete-time H 1 control problems are solved via elementary manipulations on linear matrix inequalities (LMI). Two interesting new features emerge through this approach: solvability conditions valid for both regular and singular problems , and an LMI-based parametrization of all H 1-suboptimal controllers, including reduced-order controllers. The solvability conditions invol...
