Automating dipole subtraction for QCD NLO calculations

چکیده
In this publication the construction of an automatic algorithm to subtract infrared divergences in real QCD corrections through the Catani-Seymour dipole subtraction method [1] is reported. The resulting computer code has been implemented in the matrix element generator AMEGIC++ [2]. This will allow for the automatic generation of dipole subtraction terms and their integrals over the oneparton emission phase space for any given process. If the virtual matrix element is provided as well, this then directly leads to an NLO QCD parton level event generator. [email protected] [email protected]

Progress in QCD next-to-leading order calculations
I review progress related to the calculation of QCD jet cross sections at the NLO accuracy. After a short introduction into the theory of NLO calculations, I discuss two recent developments: the calculation of twoand three-jet leptoproduction at the NLO accuracy and the extension of the dipole subtraction method for computing NLO corrections for processes involving massive partons. Jet cross se...

We report on automating the Catani-Seymour dipole subtraction which is a general procedure to treat infrared divergences in real emission processes at next-to-leading order in QCD. The automatization rests on three essential steps: the creation of the dipole terms, the calculation of the color linked squared Born matrix elements, and the evaluation of different helicity amplitudes. The routines...

We present a calculation of the NLO QCD corrections for the production of three vector bosons at the LHC, namely ZZZ, WWZ, WZZ, and WWW production. The virtual corrections are computed using the recently proposed method of reduction at the integrand level (OPP reduction). Concerning the contributions coming from real emission we used the dipole subtraction to treat the soft and collinear diverg...
متن کاملA General Algorithm for Calculating Jet Cross Sections in NLO QCD
We present a new general algorithm for calculating arbitrary jet cross sections in arbitrary scattering processes to next-to-leading accuracy in perturbative QCD. The algorithm is based on the subtraction method. The key ingredients are new factorization formulae, called dipole formulae, which implement in a Lorentz covariant way both the usual soft and collinear approximations, smoothly interp...

We briefly describe a new general algorithm for carrying out QCD calculations to next-to-leading order in perturbation theory. The algorithm can be used for computing arbitrary jet cross sections in arbitrary processes and can be straightforwardly implemented in general-purpose Monte Carlo programs. We show numerical results for the specific case of jet cross sections in deep inelastic scatteri...
