Automatic recognition of dutch dysarthric speech: a pilot study
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes a feasibility study into automatic recognition of Dutch dysarthric speech. Recognition experiments with speaker independent and speaker dependent models are compared, for tasks with different perplexities. The results show that speaker dependent speech recognition for dysarthric speakers is very well possible, even for higher perplexity tasks.

Multi-Stage DNN Training for Automatic Recognition of Dysarthric Speech
Incorporating automatic speech recognition (ASR) in individualized speech training applications is becoming more viable thanks to the improved generalization capabilities of neural network-based acoustic models. The main problem in developing applications for dysarthric speech is the relative in-domain data scarcity. Collecting representative amounts of dysarthric speech data is difficult due t...

We present a new Dutch dysarthric speech database containing utterances of neurological patients with Parkinsons disease, traumatic brain injury and cerebrovascular accident. The speech content is phonetically and linguistically diversified by using numerous structured sentence and word lists. Containing more than 6 hours of mildly to moderately dysarthric speech, this database can be used for ...

Automatic dictation software with reasonably high word recognition accuracy is now widely available to the general public. Many people with gross motor impairment, including some people with cerebral palsy and closed head injuries, have not enjoyed the benefit of these advances, because their general motor impairment includes a component of dysarthria: reduced speech intelligibility caused by n...

Disabled individuals will realize many benefits from automatic speech recognition. To date, most automatic speech recognition research has focused on normal speech. However, many individuals with physical disabilities also exhibit speech disorders. While limited research has been conducted focusing on dysarthric speech recognition, the preliminary results indicate that additional study is neces...
