2. Report of the Dean: A. WSU Budget/Hiring Freeze Update: The spending and hiring freeze will likely continue through the next academic year. We need to reduce expenditures as much as possible and be thoughtful when making any necessary purchases. The Dean and Dieter Nevels submitted a budget to the Provost’s office and are waiting for approval or to see if there will be any additional expenses allocated to us. B. Premier Health Update: Dean Dunn reported that negotiations are progressing. C. LCME Site Visit: Team Findings: It’s been five weeks since our site visit and the Dean’s exit interview with the LCME site visit committee. We have not yet received the LCME’s report. D. Performance of Examinees taking the USMLE Step 1 for the First Time in 2016: The Dean distributed the results and was very pleased.
