چکیده

2014 We propose a model giving the conformation of a star shaped polymer by taking into account the radial variation of the monomer concentration ~(r). For an isolated star when increasing r (at the centre of the star r = 0), the variation of ~(r) is first given by a constant value (r f1/2 l) then has a (r/l)-1 variation (for f1/2 / r f1/2 03BD-1 /) and finally a (r/l)-4/3 variation (for r > f1/2 03BD-1 l); where f is the number of branches, N the number of monomers in a branch and 03BD and l are the excluded volume and the length associated to a monomer. For all these cases, it is shown that the size of a branch is always larger than that of a linear polymer made of N monomers. Beyond the overlapping concentration the star conformation is obtained from two characteristic lengths essentially : ~(c) a radius inside which the branches of the other stars do not penetrate, this radius defines a domain where the conformation of a star is similar to that of an isolated one. Beyond ~(c) the interpenetration of branches is characterized by a screening length 03BE(c) very similar to that found for semi-dilute solutions of linear polymers. For all these regimes the variation of the size of a star is predicted as a function of N, f, v and c. J. Physique 43 (1982)531 538 MARS 1982, Classification Physics Abstracts 61.40K

DIFFUSION AND REACTION WITHIN A SHAPED NICKEL PEROVSKITE CATALYST

Abstract : In this study, we prepared a LaNi0.3Al0.7O3 perovskite catalyst using a sol-gel related method (with prop ionic acid as a solvent) for use in the methane dry reforming reaction to produce synthesis gas. We defined the catalyst structure on the basis of X-ray diffraction analysis and measurements of the specific surface area and particle size distribution. The mixed oxide structure ...

Liquid chromatography of theta-shaped and three-armed star poly(tetrahydrofuran)s: theory and experimental evidence of topological separation.

A theoretical background is provided for the methods of the analysis and topological separation of complex macrocyclic polymers by means of size exclusion chromatography (SEC), liquid adsorption chromatography, and liquid chromatography at the critical condition. We focus on a particular problem of the separation of theta-shaped polymers from its three-armed star analogues. Based on the theory,...

Collapse of telechelic star polymers to watermelon structures.

Conformational properties of star-shaped polymer aggregates that carry attractive end groups, called telechelic star polymers, are investigated by simulation and analytical variational theory. We focus on the case of low telechelic star polymer functionalities, f < or = 5, a condition which allows aggregation of all attractive monomers on one site. We establish the functionality- and polymeriza...
