Travelling Wave Behaviour of CrystalDissolution in Porous Media
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper we present a model for crystal dissolution in porous media and we analyse travelling wave solutions of the ensuing equations for a one{dimensional ow situation. We demonstrate the structure of the waves and we prove existence and uniqueness. The travelling wave description is characterized by a rate parameter k and a diiusion/dispersion parameter D. We investigate the limit processes as k ! 1 and D ! 0 and we obtain expressions for the rate of convergence. We also present some numerical results. 2

Travelling Waves in the Transport of Reactive Solutes through Porous Media: Adsorption and Binary Ion Exchange { Part 2 (extended Version)
We study travelling wave solutions for the model developed in part 1 of the paper. We develop and discuss a condition, characterizing their existence. The possibility of niteness is investigated. We consider the convergence to various limit cases and point out their diierent qualitative behaviour. Finally a numerical method is indicated.
متن کاملTraveling fronts in porous media: existence and a singular limit
We consider a model for the propagation of a subsonic detonation wave through a porous medium introduced by Sivashinsky [8]. We show that it admits travelling wave solutions that converge in the limit of zero temperature diffusivity to the travelling fronts of a reduced system constructed in [6].
متن کاملTravelling Waves in the Transport of Reactive Solutes through Porous Media: Adsorption and Binary Ion Exchange { Part 1
We develop a model for solute transport in porous media, which takes into account equilibrium and non-equilibrium multiple-site adsorption. Binary ion exchange is included. Adsorption rate formulations and their isotherms are reviewed and their mathematical properties investigated. This forms the basis of the study of travelling wave solutions in the second part of the paper.
متن کاملAn Analysis of Crystal Dissolution Fronts in Ows through Porous Media Part 1: Compatible Boundary Conditions
We propose a model for transport of solutes in a porous medium participating in a dissolu-tion/precipitation reaction, in general not in equilibrium. For an unbounded spatial domain, travelling wave solutions exist, if and only if the charge distribution is constant and we deal with a dissolution situation. The travelling wave in fact exhibits a sharp dissolution front. The wave is given in a n...

In this paper wave transformation in a submerged sloped breakwater and its hydraulic performance was simulated by developing a numerical model in Fortran. The code was established by combining porous flow and a two-phase model using VOF method. Modified Navier-Stokes and k-ε equations implemented to the model to simulate the flow in porous media. Cut cell method was modified to simulate...
