چکیده

Thermodynamical properties of hot and dense nuclear matter are analyzed and compared for different equations of state (EoS). It is argued that the softest point of the equation of state and the strangeness separation on the phase boundary can manifest themselves in observables. The influence of the EoS and the order of the phase transition on the expansion dynamics of nuclear matter and strangeness excitation function is analyzed. It is shown that bulk properties of strangeness production in A–A collisions depend only weakly on the particular form of the EoS. The predictions of different models are related with experimental data on strangeness production.

We discuss how the dynamics of the evolving hot fireball of quark–gluon matter impacts phase transition between the deconfined and confined state of matter. The rapid expansion of the fireball of deconfined matter created in heavy ion collisions facilitates formation of an over-saturated strange quark phase space. The related excess abundance of strangeness is compensating the suppression of th...

We calculate the effect of many-body interactions in nuclear matter on the spectral function of ρ and ω meson. In particular, we focus on the role played by baryon resonances in this context.

Globular clusters (GCs) in the Milky Way have characteristic velocity dispersions that are consistent with the predictions of Newtonian gravity, and may be at odds with Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) and possibly the cold dark matter model. We discuss a modified gravity (MOG) theory that can successfully model the velocity dispersions of GCs in the Galactic neighborhood. MOG produces veloci...

We summarize three alternative extensions of the quark-valence picture of nucleon strangeness and spin, including (1) gluon spin in QCD, (2) Bjorken sum rule and QCD, (3) D–E meson mixing and tadpole leakage. All three approaches suggest that ∼ 40% of the nucleon’s spin (as well as its momentum) resides with quarks, but that less than 6% is due to strange quarks.
