چکیده

This paper presents an 8-18GHz wideband receiver with superheterodyne topology. In order to save power, both RF and IF signals share the tunable transconductance stage. The IF output of the first mixer is fed to its tunable input stage for IF amplification in a recursive manner, which significantly enhances the gain tuning without increasing the power. The wideband receiver MMIC is implemented in a 0.13um SiGe BiCMOS technology and achieves 6.7-7.8dB noise figure (NF). The average voltage gain of the receiver is measured as 53dB maximum with 20dB continual tuning and 36dB discrete tuning. The average output P1dB is measured as -10dBm at maximum gain. The receiver dissipates 180mW with 2.2V power supply. To the authors’ best knowledge, this is the first fully integrated single-chip receiver MMIC with the coverage of the entire X-band and Ku-band realized on a commercial SiGe process. Index Terms — Wideband receiver, gain reuse, SiGe, BiCMOS, X-band, Ku-band radars.

Outage Probability Bound and Diversity Gain for Ultra-Wideband Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Correlated Noises

In this paper, Ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple access relay channel with correlated noises at the relay and receiver is investigated. We obtain outer and inner bounds for the IEEE 802.15.3a UWB multiple access relay channel, and also, a diversity gain bound. Finally, we evaluate some results numerically and show that noise correlation coefficients play important role in determining relay position.

MMICs for Broadband Receiver Applications

This paper details the design, realisation and measured performance of a set of MMICs for broadband receiver applications. Five different MMICs are described: A 0.5 to 20GHz dual channel limiter, a 2 to 18GHz dual channel Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), a DC to 20GHz dual channel Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch, a 2 to 18GHz upconverter and a companion downconverter. The MMICs can be used to ...

A Low-Noise, High-Gain Quasi-Millimeter-Wave Receiver MMIC with a Very High Degree of Integration Using 3D-MMIC Technology

We present a highly integrated quasi-millimeter-wave receiver MMIC that integrates 22 circuits in a 3 × 2.3 mm area using threedimensional MMIC (3D-MMIC) technology. The MMIC achieves low noise (3 dB) and high gain (41 dB) at 26 GHz by using an on-chip image reject filter. It integrates a multiply-by-eight (X8) local oscillator (LO) chain with the IF frequency of the 2.4 GHz band and can use lo...

Ultra Wide Band Low Noise Amplifier for Communication Receivers in 0 . 18 μ m CMOS technology

This paper presents an inductorless low-noise amplifier (LNA) design for an ultra-wideband (UWB) receiver frontend. A current-reuse gain-enhanced noise canceling architecture is proposed, and the properties and limitations of the gainenhancement stage are discussed. Capacitive peaking is employed to improve the gain flatness and 3-dB bandwidth, at the cost of absolute gain value. The LNA circui...
