Factors of Polynomials of Low Individual Degree

چکیده

In [kal89], Kaltofen proved the remarkable fact that multivariate polynomial factorization can be done efficiently, in randomized polynomial time. Still, more than twenty years after Kaltofen’s work, many questions remain unanswered regarding the complexity aspects of polynomial factorization, such as the question of whether factors of polynomials efficiently computed by arithmetic formulas also have small arithmetic formulas, asked in [KSS14], and the question of bounding the depth of the circuits computing the factors of a polynomial. We are able to answer these questions in the affirmative for the interesting class of polynomials of bounded individual degrees, which contains polynomials such as the determinant and the permanent. This partially answers the question above posed in [KSS14], who asked if this result holds without the dependence on the individual degree. Along the way, we introduce several new technical ideas that could be of independent interest when studying arithmetic circuits (or formulas). In this talk, we will give a brief survey of polynomial factorization and its relations to arithmetic complexity, and give an overview of the ideas used in the proof of our main result. Trajectory Planning Using High Order Polynomials under Acceleration Constraint

The trajectory planning, which is known as a movement from starting to end point by satisfying the constraints along the path is an essential part of robot motion planning. A common way to create trajectories is to deal with polynomials which have independent coefficients. This paper presents a trajectory formulation as well as a procedure to arrange the suitable trajectories for applications. ...

A new algorithm for computing SAGBI bases up to an arbitrary degree

We present a new algorithm for computing a SAGBI basis up to an arbitrary degree for a subalgebra generated by a set of homogeneous polynomials. Our idea is based on linear algebra methods which cause a low level of complexity and computational cost. We then use it to solve the membership problem in subalgebras.

The Fourier structure of low degree polynomials

We study the structure of the Fourier coefficients of low degree multivariate polynomials over finite fields. We consider three properties: (i) the number of nonzero Fourier coefficients; (ii) the sum of the absolute value of the Fourier coefficients; and (iii) the size of the linear subspace spanned by the nonzero Fourier coefficients. For quadratic polynomials, tight relations are known betwe...

The examination of relationship between individual characteristics and Workforce productivity in Guilan Gas Corporation Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between individual factors and workforce productivity in Guilan Gas Company. In order to examine the relationship between individual factors and productivity, the Pearson correlation test was used. Moreover, regression analysis used to examine the effects of individual factors on labor productivity. The results showed that among the individua...

Some Closure Results for Polynomial Factorization and Applications

In a sequence of fundamental results in the 80’s, Kaltofen [Kal85, Kal86, Kal87, Kal89] showed that factors of multivariate polynomials with small arithmetic circuits have small arithmetic circuits. In other words, the complexity class VP is closed under taking factors. A natural question in this context is to understand if other natural classes of multivariate polynomials, for instance, arithm...
