Wilson loops in the light of spin networks

چکیده
If G is any finite product of orthogonal, unitary and symplectic matrix groups, then Wilson loops generate a dense subalgebra of continuous observables on the configuration space of lattice gauge theory with structure group G. If G is orthogonal, unitary or symplectic, then Wilson loops associated to the natural representation of G are enough. This extends a result of A. Sengupta [7]. In particular, our approach includes the case of even orthogonal groups.

Light-Cone Wilson Loops and the String/Gauge Correspondence
We investigate a Π-shape Wilson loop in N = 4 super Yang–Mills theory, which lies partially at the light-cone, and consider an associated open superstring in AdS5 × S5. We discuss how this Wilson loop determines the anomalous dimensions of conformal operators with large Lorentz spin and present an explicit calculation in perturbation theory to order λ. We find the minimal surface in the supergr...
متن کاملCusped SYM Wilson loop at two loops and beyond
We calculate the anomalous dimension of the cusped Wilson loop in N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory (SYM) to order λ2 (λ = g2 YMN). We show that the cancellation between the diagrams with the three-point vertex and the selfenergy insertion to the propagator which occurs for smooth Wilson loops is not complete for cusped loops, so that an anomaly term remains. This term contributes to the c...
متن کاملAnomalous Dimensions of High-spin Operators beyond the Leading Order
Anomalous dimensions of Wilson operators with large Lorentz spin scale logarithmically with the spin. Recent multi-loop QCD calculations of twist-two anomalous dimensions revealed the existence of interesting structure of the subleading corrections suppressed by powers of the Lorentz spin. We argue that this structure is a manifestation of the 'self-tuning' property of the multi-loop anomalous ...
متن کاملOn collinear factorization of Wilson loops and MHV amplitudes in N = 4 SYM
We consider the (multi) Splitting function of Wilson loops and MHV gluon scattering S matrix elements in N = 4 SYM. At strong coupling, one can utilize the methods of Alday and Maldacena and at weak coupling (one loop) the correspondence to light like Wilson loops is used. In both cases, the (multi) Splitting function corresponds to flattened cusps in the light like polygon, allowing for a clea...
متن کاملSpin Networks for Non-Compact Groups
Spin networks are natural generalization of Wilson loops functionals. They have been extensively studied in the case where the gauge group is compact and it has been shown that they naturally form a basis of gauge invariant observables. Physically the restriction to compact gauge group is enough for the study of Yang-mills theories, however it is well known that non-compact groups naturally ari...
