چکیده
It is demonstrated how the right hand sides of the Lorentz Transformation equations may be written, in a Lorentz invariant manner, as 4–vector scalar products. This implies the existence of invariant length intervals analogous to invariant proper time intervals. The formalism is shown to provide a short derivation of the Lorentz force law of classical electrodynamics, and the conventional definition of the magnetic field, in terms of spatial derivatives of the 4–vector potential, as well as the Faraday–Lenz Law. An important distinction between the physical meanings of the space-time and energy-momentum 4–vectors is pointed out.

It is demonstrated how the right hand sides of the Lorentz Transformation equations may be written, in a Lorentz invariant manner, as 4–vector scalar products. This implies the existence of invariant length intervals analagous to invariant proper time intervals. This formalism, making essential use of the 4-vector electromagnetic potential concept, provides a short derivation of the Lorentz for...

We show that if we consider the full statement of Faraday's law for a closed physical circuit, the standard Maxwell's equations in the presence of electric and magnetic charges have to include in their integral form a mixed term of the form ρ m v ⊥ e where ρ m is the magnetic charge density and v ⊥ e the perpendicular component of the velocity v e of the electric charge. Maxwell's electrodynami...

The Lorentz transformation of order $(m=1,n)$, $ninNb$, is the well-known Lorentz transformation of special relativity theory. It is a transformation of time-space coordinates of the pseudo-Euclidean space $Rb^{m=1,n}$ of one time dimension and $n$ space dimensions ($n=3$ in physical applications). A Lorentz transformation without rotations is called a {it boost}. Commonly, the ...

It is demonstrated how all the mechanical equations of classical electrodynamics (CEM) may be derived from only Coulomb's inverse square force law, special rel-ativity and Hamilton's Principle. The instantaneous nature of the Coulomb force in the centre-of-mass frame of two interacting charged objects, mediated by the exchange of space-like virtual photons, is predicted by QED. The interaction ...
متن کاملInter-charge forces in relativistic classical electrodynamics: electromagnetic induction in different reference frames
The force due to electromagnetic induction on a test charge is calculated in different reference frames. The Faraday-Lenz Law and different formulae for the fields of a uniformly moving charge are used. The classical Heaviside formula for the electric field of a moving charge predicts that the inductive force vanishes in the frame in which the magnet is in motion and the test charge at rest. In...
