چکیده

The contribution of nucleon isobar N exchanges to backward elastic pd-scattering is calculated on the basis of deuteron 6q-model and found to be negligible in comparison with the neutron exchange. It is shown that the pole amplitude of neutron pickup from the deuteron nN-component is favoured in the reaction pd → dN for backward going N(1440) and N(1710) at kinetic energy of incident proton of 1.5–2 GeV whereas the triangular diagram with subprocess pp → dπ related to the usual pn−component of deuteron is considerable suppressed. Bethe–Salpeter Approach with the Separable Interaction for the Deuteron

Recent developments of the covariant Bethe–Salpeter (BS) approach with the use of the separable interaction for the deuteron are reviewed. It is shown that the BS formalism allows a covariant description of various electromagnetic reactions like the lepton-deuteron scattering, deuteron electro-disintegration, deep inelastic scattering (DIS) of leptons on light nuclei. The procedure of the const...

Deuteron Breakup pd → pnp in Specific Kinematics and Short - Range NN - Interaction

Deuteron breakup processes p + d → (NN) s,t + N are studied in the kinematics of backward elastic pd-scattering at law relative momenta of the NN-pair k ∼ 0 − 50MeV /c for initial energies T 0 = 0.5 − 2.5GeV in the framework of the known mechanisms of the pd → dp process including rescatterings in the initial and final states. A considerable suppression of the ∆− and N * − isobar excitation mec...

Improving the Convergence of NN Effective Field Theory

We study a low-energy effective field theory (EFT) describing the NN system in which all exchanged particles are integrated out. We show that fitting the residue of the S1 amplitude at the deuteron pole, rather than the S1 effective range, dramatically improves the convergence of deuteron observables in this theory. Reproducing the residue ensures that the tail of the deuteron wave function, wh...

Electron-deuteron scattering in a current-conserving description of relativistic bound states: formalism and impulse approximation calculations

The electromagnetic interactions of a relativistic two-body bound state are formulated in three dimensions using an equal-time (ET) formalism. This involves a systematic reduction of four-dimensional dynamics to a threedimensional form by integrating out the time components of relative momenta. A conserved electromagnetic current is developed for the ET formalism. It is shown that consistent tr...

The deuteron: a mini-review

We review1 some recent results for elastic electron deuteron scattering (deuteron form factors) and photodisintegration of the deuteron, with emphasis on the recent high energy data from Jefferson Laboratory (JLab). DEUTERON WAVE FUNCTIONS AND FORM FACTORS Calculations of deuteron form factors and photo and electrodisintegration to the NN final state require a deuteron wave function. The best n...
