چکیده
purpose: to evaluate visual function in patients with different types of light-filtering intraocular lenses (iols) methods: in this prospective comparative clinical study cataract patients with different types of iols in khatam-al-anbia eye hospital, mashhad were enrolled and followed for three months postoperatively. corrected distance visual acuity (cdva), color discrimination under photopic (1000 lux) and mesopic (40 lux) conditions were evaluated with roth 28 hue test. contrast sensitivity testing was then performed with 1000e contrast sensitivity unit (csv-1000e, vector vision) with a constant test luminance level of 85 cd/m2. results: in this study, 47 patients were evaluated with different iols (16 clear, 17 yellow, 14 photochromic). there were no significant differences between the three iols in cdva, contrast sensitivity and mesopic and photopic color vision (p<.05). conclusion: contrast sensitivity as well as the mesopic and photopic color vision are not different in clear, yellow and photochromic iols. iranian journal of ophthalmology 201426(3):144-9 © 2014 by the iranian society of ophthalmology

متن کاملComparison of visual function with aspheric yellow, aspheric clear and spherical clear intraocular lenses
METHODS: Patients with senile monocular cataract were randomly assigned to receive either a blue light-filtering aspheric IOL (Aspira-aAY group), its clear aspheric counterpart (Aspira-aA group) or the clear spherical model (AS group). The primary outcome measures were visual acuity for distance, intermediate (1 m), near (40 cm), contrast sensitivity under photopic (85 cd2) and mesopic (3 cd2) ...
متن کاملComparison of Visual Performance of Multifocal Intraocular Lenses with Same Material Monofocal Intraocular Lenses
PURPOSE To compare the visual performance of multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) and monofocal IOLs made of the same material. METHODS The subjects included patients implanted with either Tecnis® monofocal IOLs (ZA9003 or ZCB00) or Tecnis® multifocal IOLs (ZMA00 or ZMB00) bilaterally. We conducted a retrospective study comparing the two types of IOLs. The multifocal group included 46 patient...
متن کاملComparisons of amplitude of pseudoaccommodation with aspheric yellow, spheric yellow, and spheric clear monofocal intraocular lenses
PURPOSE To determine the amplitude of pseudoaccommodation and higher-order aberrations with three types of implanted monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs): aspheric yellow (IQ); spheric yellow (NT); and spheric clear (AT). SETTING Department of Ophthalmology, Nara Medical University, Nara, Japan. METHODS We studied 60 patients who underwent small incision phacoemulsification with the implanta...
متن کاملEvaluating the Biostability of Yellow and Clear Intraocular Lenses with a System Simulating Natural Intraocular Environment
PURPOSE Blue light-filtering intraocular lenses (IOLs) are thought to protect the retina from blue light damage after cataract surgery, and the implantation of yellow-tinted IOLs has been commonly used in cataract surgery. To our knowledge, this is the first investigation measuring the long-term biostability of yellow-tinted IOLs using an in vitro system simulating natural intraocular environme...
متن کاملComparative visual performance with monofocal and multifocal intraocular lenses
BACKGROUND To compare near, intermediate, and distance vision, and quality of vision using appropriate subjective questionnaires, when monofocal or apodized diffractive multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) are binocularly implanted. METHODS Patients with different binocular IOLs implanted were recruited after surgery and had their visual acuity tested, and quality of vision evaluated, at a si...
