determining rest concentration of diazinon in agriculture products (melon and cucmber) with gc-npd and gc-ms methods

چکیده
introduction: diazinon is a moderately toxic broad-spectrum organophosphate, with a ld50 of 350 to 400 mg/kg for humans. diazinon is absorbed through the skin and gastrointestinal tract and is rapidly metabolized within a few hours. diazinon residues in melons and cucumbers have recently became a major health concern in iran. thus we decided to investigate diazinon levels in melon and cucumbers. method and materials: twenty cucumbers and 30 melons were randomly purchased from the market in mashhad. the extraction procedure was in hr-p columns precondition with methanol and water. the subsequent elution of diazinon was accomplished by a mixture of hexane-ethyl acetate (1:1, v/v) prior to determination by gc-npd and gc-ms/ms. standards were prepared spiking blank juice samples to contract the observed matrix effect. results: mean recovery rate for diazinon was 95.4% with relative standard deviation lower than %9 in a concentration range of 5-200ng/ml. mean and sd of diazinon in melons was 107.64±38.5 ng/kg. diazinon was not detected in cucumber samples. it was later confirmed that diazinon was not used for the crops of these cucumbers. conclutions: gc-npd and ms/ms was developed to determine residues of diazinon in melons and cucumbers. the gc-ms/ms analytical method showed a high efficacy for determination of dizinon residues in the fruits.

متن کاملGC–MS and GC–NPD Determination of Formaldehyde Dimethylhydrazone in Water Using SPME
Formaldehyde dimethylhydrazone (FADMH) is one of the important transformation products of residual rocket fuel 1,1-dimethylhydrazine (1,1-DMH). Thus, recent studies show that FADMH toxicity is comparable to that of undecomposed 1,1-DMH. In this study, a new method for quantification of FADMH in water based on solid phase microextraction (SPME) in combination with gas chromatography (GC) with ma...
متن کاملEvaluation of Diazinon and Oxydemeton-methyl Residues by GC/NPD in Tomatoes Grown in Kerman Greenhouses
Pesticides are one of the major pollutants in the environment. The residue of pesticides has been reported to be at a critical level in agricultural crops, especially in greenhouse crops. Tomato is considered as an important vegetable in Iranian food basket and is produced in fields and greenhouses. So, the current study aimed to assess diazinon and oxydemeton-methyl levels in tomatoes sampled ...

متن کاملDetermination of odour concentration by TD-GC×GC–TOF-MS and field olfactometry techniques
ABSTRACT Field olfactometry is one of the sensory techniques used to determine odour concentration, in atmospheric air, directly in emission sources. A two-dimensional gas chromatography with time of flight mass spectrometer (GC×GC-TOF-MS) allows performing the chemical characterization of various groups of chemical compounds, even in complex mixtures. Application of these techniques enabled de...
متن کاملChemical Analysis of Pesticides Using GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, and LC/MS/MS
There are well over 500 registered pesticides worldwide for use in agricultural regions and new agrochemicals are introduced to the marketplace continuously. This chapter deals with the chemical analysis methods for the main pesticide chemical classes that are most frequently analyzed with gas chromatography (GC) or liquid chromatography (LC) coupled to mass spectrometry (MS). GC amenable pesti...
