چکیده
salicylic acid (sa) and methyl jasmonate (meja) as phytohormone regulate synthesis of secondary metabolites in a wide range of plant species thereby accumulation of phenylalanine ammonia lyase enzyme (pal) and accelerate of oxygen free radicals, protein kinas and no production. the present research designed to evaluate effect of sa and meja elicitation on accumulation of phenolic compounds, flavonoids and pal enzyme activity. result showed that, when elicitors applied to cell culture, phenol and flavonoids significantly increased and an increase in pal activation was observed. application of meja at 100µm and sa at 200µm had most effectiveness on production of phenyl propanoides compounds. the maximum production of measured secondary metabolites was observed in samples in which were treated with 50 µm sa+ 50 µm meja as well as 100 µm sa + 50 µm meja. a positive correlation between pal enzyme activity and phenolic compounds accumulation leads pal may be the key enzyme for the biosynthesis of phenolic compounds and flavonoids in artichoke. based on the obtained results in which indicated that pal as the first and most important enzyme in poly phenolic compounds production, influenced by executed treatments. optimization the elicitor concentrations could lead to desirable secondary metabolite production of artichoke in in-vitro conditions.

Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L) belongs to Asteraceae. A factorial experiment based on the randomized complete block design with three replications was carried using depths of root available water (RAW) and sowing time (ST) as treatments. Leaf length and width, number of leaves per plant and the biomass yield were recorded before laboratory analysis. In laboratory total phenols, total flavonoids,...

In this study, the quantitative amounts of chlorogenic acid (CA) in spray dried artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) leaf extract (SD) and standardized artichoke commercial products (CP1, CP2) were calculated by using HPLC. The amounts of CA were 4.66±2.96x10 mg/capsule and 27.9±9.98x10 mg/capsule for CP1 and CP2 respectively. The in vitro phytoequivalance of SD, CP1 and CP2 were evaluated by using t...

High-dose aqueous extracts from artichoke leaves were found to inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis from 14C-acetate in primary cultured rat hepatocytes in a concentration-dependent biphasic manner with moderate inhibition (approximately 20%) between 0.007 and 0.1 mg/ml and more strong inhibition at 1 mg/ml. Cytotoxic effects detected by lactate dehydrogenase leakage and the 3-[4, 5-dimethylthiazol...

Cynara scolymus L. is a medicinal plant frequently used in traditional medicine for liver diseases. The aim of this study is to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the different parts of Artichoke. Maximum antimicrobial activity was observed with methanolic extract of bound phenols for (bract and heart) against Gram negative bacteria. The MIC values for bound phenols from heart were (63μg/ml...
