circulating metabolic hormones in different metabolic states of high producing holstein dairy cows

چکیده
background: information regarding the metabolic hormones in different metabolic states of high producing dairy cows can aid high producing herds to manage and resolve the metabolic and production problems. furthermore, it can be considered as a tool to evaluate metabolic status of dairy cows. herd managers can also evaluate the energy input-output relationships by assessing the metabolic profile to prevent and control negative energy balance, metabolic disorders and nutritional insufficiencies. objectives: the present study was performed to clarify the metabolic hormone profile in each metabolic state of high producing holstein dairy cows. the results of this research can reveal the normal metabolic state of these animals. methods: 25 multiparous holstein dairy cows were divided to 5 equal groups containing early, mid and late lactations, far-off and close-up dry periods. blood samples were collected from all cows and sera were analyzed for concentrations of triiodothyronine (t3), thyroxine (t4), free t3 (ft3), free t4 (ft4), cortisol and insulin like growth factor-1 (igf-1). results: serum t3 concentration in early lactation group was significantly higher than other ones (p

متن کاملAlterations of the electrocardiographic parameters in relation to circulating electrolytes and cardiac enzymes during different productive states of high producing Holstein dairy cows
BACKGROUND: Dairy cows undergo physiological changes during pregnancy and lactation and cardiovascular system may alter during these periods. OBJECTIVES: Understanding the physiological effects of production periods of dairy cows on heart electrical activities can aid to better monitoring the cardiovascular system in these animals. METHODS: Five multiparous Holstein dairy cows were studied from...
متن کاملFurosemide Induced Electrocardiographic Alterations in High Producing Holstein Dairy Cows
Diuretics have several therapeutic advantages in dairy cows but there are different side effects such as acid-base and electrolyte imbalances which may affect the electrocardiographic parameters. Fifteen multiparous, clinically healthy, non-pregnant and high producing 4-year-old Holstein dairy cows at their early lactation period were randomly divided into 3 equal experimental groups. Furosemid...
متن کاملStudy on serum glucose, insulin, NEFA, BHBA and lipid profile in different productive status of high producing Holstein dairy cows
Background: Metabolic profiles have been used in efforts to predict pre parturient problems and fertility, to diagnose metabolic diseases, and to assess nutritional status in dairy cows. These profiles may help to confirm the diagnosis of sub clinical diseases, to be aware of possible causes of infertility in the herds, or to monitor improvement in herd animals. OBJECTIVES: This study investiga...
متن کاملBlood metabolic profiles in Uruguayan Holstein and Uruguayan Holstein x New Zealand Holstein-Friesian dairy cows
Blood metabolic profiles were determined from 40 days prepartum to 60 days postpartum in Uruguayan Holstein (UH) (n = 13) and UH x New Zealand Holstein-Friesian first cross (UH-NZHF) (n = 13) cows with seven in each group experiencing their second lactation (L2) and six experiencing their third lactation (L3). Non-esterified fatty acids increased around calving and tended to be greater in UH-L3...
متن کاملMetabolic profiles of high-yielding dairy cows with ovarian cysts formation
Background: Ovarian cysts are among the diseases which cause reproductive failure and economic losses in dairy herds. High yelding dairy cattles are suseptable to reproductive failure caused by ovarian cysts, as a result of their exposure to stressful coditions during lactation. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to monitor metabolic profile tests in dairy cows with ovarian cysts in comparison with c...
