چکیده
the impairment of the reproductive performance of pesticide resistant individuals in pesticide-free environment is the result of fitness costs associated with pesticide resistance, which is often determined by resource allocation from a basic physiological process to the protection against pesticides, favoring survival at the expense of reproduction. in this study, the fecundity life table parameters of abamectin-resistant and susceptible populations of tetranychus urticae koch were studied under laboratory conditions at 24±2˚c, 70±10 r.h. and 16:8 (l: d). in all experiments, reproductive fitness parameters were measured for each population on the vigna ungiculata (l.) leaves. standard error of life table parameters was calculated using the jackknife method. results showed that susceptible population exhibited significantly higher intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm), finite rate of increase (λ) and net reproductive rate (r0) than resistant population. no significant difference occurred in mean generation time (t) between the susceptible and resistant populations, but doubling time (dt) of resistant population was higher than that in susceptible one. results of present study suggest that the resistant population may be less fit than susceptible compartment.

Reproductive parameters of Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks) fed with Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Phytoseiidae, Tetranychidae) in laboratory.
Predatory mites that belong to the Phytoseiidae family are one of the main natural enemies of phytophagous mites, thus allowing for their use as a biological control. Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks, 1904) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is among the main species of predatory mites used for this purpose. Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 (Acari: Tetranychidae) is considered to be one of the most important sp...

The experiment was conducted to study the effectiveness of four commonly used chemicals viz., deltamethrin, cypermethrin, malathion and sulphur against two-spotted spider mite (TSSM), Tetranychus urticae Koch on potted bean plants and on excised leaf discs. Mite population remained significantly lower in all treated plots except malathion treatment. The population of T. urticae differed signifi...

J. Agric. Results show that significantly (P < 0.05) higher numbers of T. urticae were found in pyrethroid·treatcd trees relative to the ...

Several studies have been conducted on resistance sources to improve the genetic resistance of farm-grown tomatoes to arthropod pests, including phytophagous mites. In the present study, we evaluate the behavior of the two-spotted spider mite on different cherry tomato accessions to identify possible sources of resistance (repellent effect) to this pest. Sixty-four accessions of cherry tomatoes...
