detection of moving targets in stepped-frequency radars using dcft

چکیده
one of the most common signals used for achieving high range resolution in radar is stepped-frequency signals. when a target is stationary in these radars, dft (discrete fourier transform) based processing is used to attain high range resolution profile (hrrp). however, in the case of moving target, due to spreading of the echo signal spectrum, dft based processing is not optimal and decreases detection performance and also prevents achieving hrrp. because the model of echo signal reflected from a moving target is similar to the linear frequency modulated signal or chirp, in the present paper a new processing algorithm is proposed based on replacing dft with dcft (discrete chirp-fourier transform). the main focus of this paper is to prove that the proposed algorithm can completely compensate performance loss caused by target velocity and also make hrr achieved. also computational complexity of both algorithms are computed and compared with each other.

moving target detection in stepped frequency radars using compressive sensing
stepped frequency radars attract many attentions due to their high range resolution. conventional processing technique in these radars is based on the idft. in detecting moving targets, the idft has the problems of range shifting and range spreading, which result in degrading target amplitude, loss of range accuracy and range resolution. to overcome these problems, the velocity compensation met...

In this work, the problem of detecting and tracking targets with synthetic aperture radars is considered. A novel approach in which prior knowledge on target motion is assumed to be known for small patches within the field of view. Probability densities are derived as priors on the moving target signature within backprojected SAR images, based on the work of Jao. Furthermore, detection and trac...
متن کاملimproving fluctuating target detection using high range resolution stepped frequency radars
one of the problems in detecting radar targets is the variation of target cross section due to aspect angle; which is named as target fluctuation. this perfectly depends on target geometry and transmitted wavelength and can cause significant loss of detection. one of the solutions to this is improving the radar range resolution. stepped frequency is one of the signals that can improve the range...
متن کاملRange and Velocity Estimation of Moving Targets Using Multiple Stepped-frequency Pulse Trains
Range and velocity estimation of moving targets using conventional steppedfrequencypulse radar may suffer from the range-Doppler coupling and the phasewrapping. To overcome these problems, this paper presents a new radar waveform namedmultiple stepped-frequency pulse trains and proposes a new algorithm. It is shown that byusing multiple stepped-frequency pulse trains and the robust phase unwrap...
متن کاملMotion Compensation of Moving Targets for High Range Resolution Stepped-Frequency Radar
High range resolution (HRR) profiling using stepped-frequency pulse trains suffers from range shift and the attenuation/dispersion of range profiles while the target of interest is moving. To overcome these two drawbacks, a new algorithm based on the maximum likelihood (ML) estimation is proposed in this paper. Without altering the conventional stepped-frequency waveform, this algorithm can est...
متن کاملMoving targets detection using sequential importance sampling
In this paper, we present a new technique for detecting moving targets from image sequences captured by moving sensors. Feature points are detected and tracked through the image sequences. A validity vector is used to describe the consistency of feature trajectories with sensor motion. By using the sequential importance sampling method, an approximation to the posterior distribution of the sens...
