چکیده

An experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2019-20 with the objective evaluating effect mulching and nutrient management practices on growth, yield economics maize (Zea mays L.) at Balindi Research Complex, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Nadia, West Bengal, India clay loam soil. The laid out in Randomized Block Design nine treatment (T) combinations such as T1- Live mulch (Trifolium alexandrium)+50% recommended dose fertilizer (RDF) [120:60:40 kg /ha N, P2O5 K2O], T2- Mulch+75% RDF, T3- Mulch+100% T4- Straw Mulch (rice straw)+ 50 % T5- T6- T7- No Mulch+50% RDF ,T8- T9- Mulch+100 replicated thrice. Experimental results revealed that different levels exerted significant influence yield, net return benefit-cost ratio (B:C). Application straw mulch+100% (T6) resulted highest plant height (164.57 cm), grain (5.28 tonnes /ha), stover (7.65 tonnes/ha) B: C (2.16), however, T7 recorded lowest yield. So, integrated application along 100% could be for better higher profit maize. Integration organic might useful long-term soil health benefits exhaustive crop.

Response of Yield and Yield Components of Maize (Zea Mayz L.) to Different Bio Fertilizers

A experiment was lay out in order to evaluate the effects  of different biofertilizers on yield and yield components of maize at the Lorestan provience, Iran. The experiment was a factorial design with three replications. Treatments were three nitrogen biofrtilizers (Nitrokara (N1), O4 (N2), O6 (N3) and control (N4)) and three phosphate biofrtilizers ...

Maize (Zea Mays L.) Growth and Yield Response to Ethephon Application under Water Stress Conditions

The aim of the present investigation was to study the growth, yield and yield components of maize (Zea mays L.) single cross 704 under different levels of irrigation, plant density, and ethephon in southern Iran where this particular crop has not yet been studied in detail. A field experiment was performed in the 2004 5 growing season at the experimental farm of the College of Agriculture, Shir...

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

Growth and Yield Response of Maize (Zea mays L.) to Different Rates of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Fertilizers in Southern Nigeria

The effect of twelve different rates of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers on growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L.) in southern Nigeria was evaluated between June and October, 2007. The results of the study showed that application of 120kgN/ha + 0kgP/ha and 60kgN/ha + 40kgP/ha significantly increased the growth of maize than other treatments. The application rate of 120kgN/ha +40kgP/ha signi...
