چکیده
Friction Stir Processing (FSP) is a method for solid-state processing, in which rotating tool moved onto the material surface to modify microstructure and thus obtain improved properties of surface. We study effects FSP on aluminium alloy A6061-T651 using made at Institute Metal Science, Equipment, Technologies with Centre Hydro- Aerodynamics (IMSETCHA) Bulgarian Academy Sciences. The has threaded pin three flutes concave shoulder. Optimal process parameters should always be chosen treatment new materials when instrument used order achieve target processed zone. appropriate properties, like strength, hardness, corrosion resistance, etc. require that are correctly configured. most influential friction stir processing direction rotation tool, speed, traverse speed processing. In this paper, we investigate zone total 16 regimes: 4 speeds (900, 1100, 1300, 1500 rpm) (15, 30, 45, 60 mm/min) counterclockwise rotation, comparing results previous clockwise rotation. Metallographic inquiry, hardness tribological tests estimate stirred quality.

Fatigue of Friction Stir Welded 2024-T351 Aluminium Alloy
Fatigue failure characteristics of friction stir welds in 13mm gauge 2024-T351 plate have been assessed. Failure occurred from either the weld region (nugget/flow arm) or from the material immediately surrounding the weld. Fatigue failure from the surrounding material was essentially conventional, initiating from large S-phase intermetallic particles and growing in a macroscopic mode I manner. ...
متن کاملFeasibility study of friction stir welding of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with AISI 1018 steel
The present work demonstrates that friction stir welding (FSW) is a feasible route for joining 6061 aluminium (Al) alloy to AISI 1018 steel. The weld has a good weld quality and is free of cracks and porosity. The tensile failure happened at the boundary between the nugget and thermomechanically affected zone of the base Al alloy, indicating that the weld has a higher joining strength. Despite ...
متن کاملThe Strength of Friction Stir Welded and Friction Stir Processed Aluminium Alloys
Local strength of friction stir (FS) welds and FS processed aluminium alloys in heat treatable aluminium alloys is dominated by precipitation hardening. Strengthening due to stored dislocations is generally limited to 40MPa, and grain size strengthening is generally less than 10MPa. Local crystallographic texture can cause yield strength variation on the order of 5%. Published models for streng...
متن کاملAnalysis and Comparison of Friction Stir Welding and Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloy
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process; i.e., no melting occurs. The welding process is promoted by the rotation and translation of an axis-symmetric non-consumable tool along the weld centerline. Thus, the FSW process is performed at much lower temperatures than conventional fusion welding, nevertheless it has some disadvantages. Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding (LAFS...
متن کاملFriction stir welding and processing
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a relatively new solid-state joining process. This joining technique is energy efficient, environment friendly, and versatile. In particular, it can be used to join high-strength aerospace aluminum alloys and other metallic alloys that are hard to weld by conventional fusion welding. FSW is considered to be the most significant development in metal joining in a de...
