Workers’ health policies in Brazil: historical contradictions and possibilities for development

Abstract The Workers’ Health (WH) approach understands that it is necessary to expand the object of public policies transform work processes determine health-disease relationship. This broadening brings challenges drive development formulation and implementation for surveillance prevention diseases. article aimed analyze Brazilian on WH from perspective historical contradictions. To this end, analytical concept contradiction Cultural-Historical Activity Theory was used. a scoping review, including 64 theoretical empirical studies gray literature published between 1991 2019. results analysis showed that: change inserted by approach, five new contradictions emerged are related predominance instruments previous activity model, normative training instruments, division labor assistance actions, intra intersectoral articulations. social control.
