Work with Youth in the Russian Orthodox Church in the Contemporary Period

Modern Russia is undergoing changes, including religion. In the Soviet Union, in contrast to Western world, there was not only an active and rapid social secularization, but also a violent atheization of population. As for youth, due notorious atheism, lack youth’s religiosity. After collapse USSR, it became necessary implement effective measures so that Orthodoxy could adequately respond “challenge time”. Under these conditions, organization work with youth ROC began revive. The major research objective study Russian Orthodox Church’s main forms post-Soviet period. Our conducted Ural region, one largest regions Federation. methodology used qualitative approach (in-depth interviews). research, based on informants’ opinions, has identified three groups who through Church. They are: traditional church (organizing Holy Scriptures, doctrinal (catechism) classes, missionary activities, etc.), secular (children’s camps, young family clubs, sports military-patriotic addiction prevention projects, etc.) innovative (Internet Internet communities, forums, cafes, bars, etc.). revealed religious phenomena manifestations religiosity are observed totally different areas, such as cultural, economic, educational, leisure, etc. elucidated Church fits into framework this paradigm, thus confirming T. Luckmann’s theory.
