چکیده
Abstract Reducing the embodied emissions of materials for new construction and renovation buildings is a key challenge climate change mitigation around world. However, as simply reducing not sufficient to meet targets, using bio-based seems only feasible choice it permits carbon storage in buildings. Various studies have shown that allow turning overall life cycle impacts negative, therefore, having cooling effect on climate. In recent years, scholars policy makers focused almost exclusively advancement wooden Timber structures stand out they can be prefabricated used high-rise Yet, one important aspect overlooked: consideration supply demand. Large forest areas sustainable sourcing woody biomass exist Northern hemisphere, notably North America Europe. these regions, though, urbanization rates are mostly stagnating, meaning low. The largest amount material requirements regions derived from refurbishment existing stock. Moreover, where structural needed construction, Asia, Africa South America, rain forests need protected. Therefore, we rethink desire find solution carelessly implement everywhere. Instead, consider locally available know-how grounded choices. This paper explores range matches against demand global building stocks. It based various previous by authors, Africa, China, Portugal, more. analysis divides between such wood bamboo, thermal insulation buildings, straw hemp. results emphasize diversifying solutions.

The Right Answer to the Wrong Question: Identifying Superior Active Portfolio Management
The debate over the value of active portfolio management has often centered on whether the average active manager is capable of producing returns that exceed expectations. We argue that a more useful way to frame this issue is to focus on identifying those managers who are the most likely to generate superior risk-adjusted returns (i.e., alpha) in the future. Using a style-classified sample of ...
