Wood Fibre Characteristics of Pedunculate Oak (Quercus Robur L.) Growing in Different Ecological Conditions

چکیده
Anatomical properties of pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.) wood have not been previously investigated in Serbia, so bearing mind economic-productive and ecological significance this species, it was one the main reasons why research conducted. In paper, fibre length (FL), double cell-wall thickness (DCWT) lumen diameter (FLD) were measured from two different sites. The study conducted at sites (Donji Srem – MU „Raškovica-Smogvica” Gornji „Kupinske grede”), situated along Sava River characterised by conditions, including flooding regimes. Measurements radial direction, pith to bark, order assess variation characteristics with cambial age, between individual trees within each site. All both increase going bark apart FL area Donji grede” that reaches maximum value central part xylem then decreases. Hydrological site conditions affect dimensions fibres these values are a bit higher „Raškovica-Smogvica”, due greater quantity available water.

INTENZITET FOTOSINTEZE I VEGETATIVNI RAST HRASTA LUŽNJAKA (Quercus robur L.) U POKUSNOM NASADU PHOTOSYNTESIS INTENSITY AND VEGETATIVE GROWTH OF PEDUNCULATE OAK (Quercus robur L.) IN COMMON-GARDEN EXPERIMENT
متن کاملUnusually limited pollen dispersal and connectivity of Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) refugial populations at the species' southern range margin.
Low-latitudinal range margins of temperate and boreal plant species typically consist of scattered populations that persist locally in microrefugia. It remains poorly understood how their refugial habitats affect patterns of gene flow and connectivity, key components for their long-term viability and evolution. We examine landscape-scale patterns of historical and contemporary gene flow in refu...
متن کاملRegeneration Patterns of European Oak Species (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl., Quercus robur L.) in Dependence of Environment and Neighborhood
Quercus robur L. (pedunculate oak) and Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl. (sessile oak) are two European oak species of great economic and ecological importance. Even though both oaks have wide ecological amplitudes of suitable growing conditions, forests dominated by oaks often fail to regenerate naturally. The regeneration performance of both oak species is assumed to be subject to a variety of v...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis of phytopathogenic ascomycota on leaves of pedunculate oaks (Quercus robur L.) by real-time PCR.
Leaves of oak trees are often infected by various pathogenic fungi. As it is difficult to remove such organisms quantitatively from the leaf surface and as it is often impossible to grow these organisms independently from their host, there are almost no molecular data available from these oak leaf specific pathogens. For the quantitative removal of the microorganisms a procedure was developed c...
متن کاملA 20-Year Overview of Quercus robur L. Mortality and Crown Conditions in Slovenia
Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.) forests in Slovenia are experiencing widespread mortality. Changes in lowlands are reflected in decline of complete forest complexes, high mortality, uneven stand structure and associated forest regeneration problems. Prediction of the present-tree response in disturbed forest ecosystems may significantly contribute to better guideline policies for the silvicu...
