Women empowerment, supply chain linkages and FDI: Evidence from Bangladesh

This paper studies foreign direct investment spillovers on the gender-related labour market practice of domestic firms, based a unique firm-to-firm data set Bangladesh’s textiles and garment sectors. The looks at female employment firms that are directly indirectly related to foreign- owned through supply chain linkages. These either local suppliers or customers foreign-owned they share with firms. estimates show have significantly more administrative workers, but not necessarily non-administrative owing former participating in interactions.
