چکیده
This article takes up and broadens the concept of ‘womb-envy’ from a bioenergetic perspective. Womb-envy describes felt, if unconscious, experience in men arising our incapacity to carry bear and, certain ways, nurture children. paper examines this phenomenon using somatopsychic lens illuminates impact feelings on personality development men’s relationships with women.

The Pancreatic β-Cell: A Bioenergetic Perspective.
The pancreatic β-cell secretes insulin in response to elevated plasma glucose. This review applies an external bioenergetic critique to the central processes of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, including glycolytic and mitochondrial metabolism, the cytosolic adenine nucleotide pool, and its interaction with plasma membrane ion channels. The control mechanisms responsible for the unique res...
متن کاملThe first living systems: a bioenergetic perspective.
The first systems of molecules having the properties of the living state presumably self-assembled from a mixture of organic compounds available on the prebiotic Earth. To carry out the polymer synthesis characteristic of all forms of life, such systems would require one or more sources of energy to activate monomers to be incorporated into polymers. Possible sources of energy for this process ...
متن کاملevaluation of a semen extender from a bioenergetic perspective 1
Four premises for sperm preservation were previously outlined. The present work tested 2 of these. The first premise was that sperm mobility phenotype affects procedural efficacy. Random bred roosters were phenotyped with the sperm mobility assay. A normal frequency distribution was observed with 35% (SD = 16.4) mobile sperm. Test subjects had values >51% (high) or between 19 and 35% (below ave...

Measurement of carotid wall thickness is a research tool that has been used to risk-stratify adults with cardiovascular disease, but its clinical role is debatable according to the current American Heart Association guidelines. However, an increased aortic wall thickness has been described in individuals born small for gestational age (SGA) in early childhood, implying that they may be at risk ...
