Wobbles and other kink-breather solutions of the sine-Gordon model.
We study various solutions of the sine-Gordon model in (1+1) dimensions. We use the Hirota method to construct some of them and then show that the wobble, discussed in detail in a recent paper by Kälberman, is one of such solutions. We concentrate our attention on a kink and its bound states with one or two breathers. We study their stability and some aspects of their scattering properties on p...

As shown in [hep-th/0406065], there exists a noncommutative deformation of the sine-Gordon model which remains (classically) integrable but features a second scalar field. We employ the dressing method (adapted to the Moyal-deformed situation) for constructing the deformed kinkantikink and breather configurations. Explicit results and plots are presented for the leading noncommutativity correct...
متن کاملThe Kink Casimir Energy in a Lattice Sine-Gordon Model
The Casimir energy of quantum fluctuations about the classical kink configuration is computed numerically in the weak coupling approximation for a recently proposed lattice sineGordon model. This energy depends periodically on the kink position and is found to be approximately sinusoidal. PACS classification numbers: 03.65.Sq, 11.10.Lm, 63.10.+a.

As 71 is varied over the range ~ < ~/< ~c, this potential exhibits a variety of structures. Although in later sections we shall discuss these different structures in some detail [2], it is important here to provide a qualitative feeling for them. Clearly, for ~ _+ oo, 'V(~) reduces to a sine-Gordon [SG] form for q~, while for 71 = 0, it leads to a SG form for q~/2. Thus in both these limits the...
