Wireless Power Transfer System for Mobile Robots with Impedance Matching by Adjusting Position of Driver Coil

Wireless power transfer based on magnetic resonant coupling can be used to supply a mobile robot within few meters of transmitter coil. However, when the moves or its consumption fluctuates, input impedance varies significantly and, in case mismatch, reflection may occur. To address this issue, we employed driver coil side match impedance. By regulating coefficient between and coils, is matched eliminated. Input regulation achieved by moving mechanically. As confirmed our experiments, transmitting efficiency with analytically calculated value, was for vast range distances from 0 1 m load resistances 4 210 Ω properly. Therefore, proposed system successfully addresses problem wireless robots.
