Window Functions With Minimum-Sidelobe Derivatives for Computing Instantaneous Frequency

چکیده

In the field of nonstationary signal analysis and processing, short-time Fourier transform (STFT) is frequently used to convert signals into time-frequency domain. The instantaneous frequency (IF) STFT defined as time derivative phase plays an important role in reassignment method synchrosqueezing (SST). this paper, we propose a framework design window function for computing IF STFT. Computing requires with its derivative, i.e., computation depends on both derivative. To suitable IF, formulate problem sidelobe minimization corresponding Two windows are designed considering energy or highest level cost functions minimizing sidelobes their derivatives. SST using proposed provides sharper representation compared those produced ordinary bandwidth-adjustable windows.

Minimum-latency Time-frequency Analysis Using Asymmetric Window Functions

We study the real-time dynamics retrieval from a time series via the time-frequency (TF) analysis with the minimal latency guarantee. While different from the well-known intrinsic latency definition in the filter design, a rigorous definition of intrinsic latency for different time-frequency representations (TFR) is provided, including the short time Fourier transform (STFT), synchrosqeezing tr...

Adaptive Window Zero-Crossing-Based Instantaneous Frequency Estimation

We address the problem of estimating instantaneous frequency (IF) of a real-valued constant amplitude time-varying sinusoid. Estimation of polynomial IF is formulated using the zero-crossings of the signal. We propose an algorithm to estimate nonpolynomial IF by local approximation using a low-order polynomial, over a short segment of the signal. This involves the choice of window length to min...

A Novel Window Function Yielding Suppressed Mainlobe Width and Minimum Sidelobe Peak

In many applications like FIR filters, FFT, signal processing and measurements, we are required (~45 dB) or less side lobes amplitudes. However, the problem is usual window based FIR filter design lies in its side lobes amplitudes that are higher than the requirement of application. We propose a window function, which has better performance like narrower main lobe width, minimum side lobe peak ...

Algorithms for computing the time-corrected instantaneous frequency (reassigned) spectrogram, with applications.

A modification of the spectrogram (log magnitude of the short-time Fourier transform) to more accurately show the instantaneous frequencies of signal components was first proposed in 1976 [Kodera et al., Phys. Earth Planet. Inter. 12, 142-150 (1976)], and has been considered or reinvented a few times since but never widely adopted. This paper presents a unified theoretical picture of this time-...

Computing Derivatives of Scaling Functions and Wavelets

This paper provides a general approach to the computation, for sufficiently regular multiresolution analyses, of scaling functions and wavelets and their derivatives. Two distinct iterative schemes are used to determine the multiresolution functions, the so-called ‘cascade’ algorithm and an eigenvector-based method. We present a novel development of these procedures which not only encompasses b...
