چکیده
This review aims to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of zirconia implants compared with titanium implants. Moreover, it intends relevant available long-term literature these two materials regarding osteointegration, soft-tissue, microbiota, peri-implantitis, focusing on clinical results. Briefly, are a reliable alternative for missing teeth; however, they not incapable failure. In an attempt provide implant material, made from ceramic-derivate products were developed. Owing its optimal osseointegration competence, biocompatibility, esthetic proprieties, zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), also known as zirconia, has gained popularity among researchers clinicians, being metal-free main use in anterior zones. type may present similar those noted greater soft-tissue response. Furthermore, this material does show corrosion analog, is less susceptible bacterial adhesion. Lastly, even presenting inflammatory response titanium, offer biofilm formation, suggesting susceptibility peri-implantitis. However, relatively new that been commercially decade; consequently, still lacks studies long follow-up periods.

Zirconia Vs Titanium Implants – Deciding Factors
This study focuses on titanium implants in a conventional manner and the newly introduced and highly popular Zirconia implants. Some of the major areas covered here are clinical considerations and material science which includes implant materials as well as the impacts of its physical properties on outcomes of the treatment. Titanium is the gold standard for dental implants fabrication in spite...

Gingival esthetics around natural teeth is based upon a constant vertical dimension of healthy periodontal soft tissues, the Biologic Width. When placing endosseous implants, however, several factors influence periimplant soft and crestal hard tissue reactions, which are not well understood as of today. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to histometrically examine periimplant soft tissue ...

Background: Titanium (Ti) implants are commonly coated with hydroxyapatite (HA). However, HA has some disadvantages such as brittleness, low tensile strength and fracture toughness. It is desirable to combine the excellent mechanical properties of ZrO2 and the chemical inertness of Al2O3 with respect to the purpose of this project which was coating Ti implants with HA-ZrO2-Al2O3 to modify the s...

Deep infection remains a serious complication in orthopedic implant surgery. In order to reduce the incidence of implant-associated infections, several biomaterial surface treatments have been proposed. This study focused on evaluating the antibacterial activity of iodine-supported titanium (Ti-I(2)) and its impact on post-implant infection, as well as determining the potential suitability of T...
