Will Online MOOCs Improve the Efficiency of Chinese Higher Education Institutions? An Empirical Study Based on DEA

In recent years, the increasingly fierce competition among higher education institutions (HEIs), finite resources, and enormous influence of COVID-19 epidemic on have made it especially important to evaluate performance Chinese institutions. This paper utilizes DEA-BCC Malmquist index analyze efficiency productivity 34 “985 Project” universities in period 2017–2021. The indicator system includes three inputs five outputs, contained Model 1 2 for comparative analysis. results demonstrate that has had a considerable negative impact education, induced reduction technical productivity. Setting up online MOOCs is conducive enhancing HEIs; addition, mentioned varies noticeably different university levels, there no significant difference types geographical locations.
