Wild plant species related to crop plants form an important source of useful traits for fruit quality improvement and biotic abiotic stress tolerance. Wide hybridization involving wild relatives taxa has gained momentum in the recent programs. It breaks barrier gene transfer makes it possible genome one another, which results changes genotypes phenotypes progenies. The incompatibilities or barriers wide occur as prezygotic postzygotic barriers. Techniques chromosome doubling, bridging species, protoplast fusion embryo rescue are highly beneficial recovering fertile progenies by overcoming various crossings. present article reviews techniques involved distant crossing their applications improvement.
