Which impeller should be chosen for efficient solid–liquid mixing in the laminar and transitional regime?

Abstract The vast majority of solid–liquid mixing studies have focused on high Reynolds number applications with configurations and impeller geometries adapted to this type regime. However, the particles in a viscous fluid is an essential element many contemporary industries. We used computational dynamics‐discrete method model previously developed our group investigate close‐clearance impellers laminar regime operation. compared different geometries, that is, double helical ribbon, anchor, Paravisc ™ , Maxblend impellers. investigated impact viscosity results those obtained pitched blade turbine, more commonly impeller, based power consumption for equivalent states.
