Which Factors Affect User Satisfaction with ETC? Evidence from Shanghai and Beijing

Owing to the current development trend of globalization and informatization, traditional transportation technologies means can no longer meet needs economic social development. Thus, intelligent will be an inevitable revolutionary choice for industry. As a subsystem system, electronic nonstop toll collection (ETC) system provides good solution problems traffic congestion, environmental pollution, energy consumption, low operation efficiency caused by expressway collection. This high-technology is utilized in many fields, such as radio communication computer automatic control field. China’s ETC systems have evident effects on congestion reduction at stations. Although advantages lanes are significant, China actively implements ETC-handling policies, some drivers reluctant install on-board or they negative experiences after handling them. According survey, existing literature lacks research factors affecting user satisfaction with ETC. On basis questionnaire data experience Shanghai Beijing, we comprehensively investigate reasons banking, equipment, drivers’ personal travel characteristics establish ordinal logistics model. Through cluster analysis, two cities divided into three groups, significance related variables further analyzed. help us understand degree influence different certain extent. Moreover, effective methods measures used promote popularity vehicle equipment utilization rate ETC-dedicated lanes.
