Which Curve Fits Best: Fitting ROC Curve Models to Empirical Credit-Scoring Data

چکیده
In the practice of credit-risk management, models for receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves are helpful in describing shape an ROC curve, estimating discriminatory power a scorecard, and generating without underlying data. The primary purpose this study is to review curve proposed literature, primarily biostatistics, fit them actual credit-scoring data order determine which could be used credit-risk-management practice. We list several theoretical describe context. model includes binormal, bigamma, bibeta, bilogistic, power, bifractal curves. then tested against empirical from publicly available presentations papers, as well European retail lending institutions. Except all presented quite well. However, based on results other favourable properties, it suggested that binormal preferred choice modelling

Multiple Comparisons with the Best ROC Curve
The accuracy of a medical diagnostic tool depends on its specificity, the probability that it classifies a normal person as normal, and its sensitivity, the probability that it classifies a diseased person as diseased. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of such a tool is its sensitivity plotted against (1 specificity) as the threshold defining “normal” versus “diseased” ranges ov...

It would be nice for both the woman and family and the attending obstetrician to anticipate a cesarean delivery on the basis of patient characteristics. The traditional method is to compute Bishop score based on dilatation, effacement, consistency and position. Other parameters that influence the success of induction of labor are maternal age, parity, BMI and amniotic fluid index. A study was c...
متن کاملDoes the Best-Fitting Curve Always Exist?
In many areas of human practice, one needs to approximate a set of points P1, . . . , Pn ∈ R representing experimental data or observations by a simple geometric shape, such as a line, plane, circular arc, elliptic arc, and spherical surface. This problem is known as fitting amodel object line, circle, sphere, etc. to observed data points. The best fit is achieved when the geometric distances f...
متن کاملIs the Best Fitting Curve Always Unique?
is is a continuation of our paper [1] where we studied the problem of existence of the best tting curve. Here we deal with its uniqueness. Our interest in these problems comes from applications where one describes a set of points PP1,... , PPnn (representing experimental data or observations) by simple geometric shapes, such as lines, circular arc, elliptic arc, and so forth. e best t is ac...
متن کاملDiscrete Polynomial Curve Fitting to Noisy Data
A discrete polynomial curve is defined as a set of points lying between two polynomial curves. This paper deals with the problem of fitting a discrete polynomial curve to given integer points in the presence of outliers. We formulate the problem as a discrete optimization problem in which the number of points included in the discrete polynomial curve, i.e., the number of inliers, is maximized. ...
