What makes a student feel vital? Links between teacher-student relatedness and teachers’ engaging messages

Abstract Recent studies suggest that teacher messages can affect students’ well-being. Using a multilevel, variable, and person-centred approach, this study aimed to identify profiles of students according their teachers’ use engaging analyse the relation among these teacher-student relatedness subjective vitality. A total 1209 participated in study. At student-level, profile analysis indicated existence four different profiles: few profile, autonomous motivational appeals loss-framed gain-framed profile. level, two variant invariant profiles. Results showed overall, at both levels analysis, related with (either positively or negatively) clear differences Moreover, also Main findings implications for practice are discussed.
