Well-Defined Fluorinated Copolymers: Current Status and Future Perspectives
نویسندگان
چکیده
Well-defined fluoropolymers exhibit unique properties such as excellent oil and water repellency, satisfactory thermal stability, a low refractive index, surface energy. The origin of these is attributed to the presence strong electronegative polarizable fluorine atom in backbone polymers, which leads C–F bond (with high dissociation energy 485 kJ mol–1). Because features, polymers have found applications functional coatings, thermoplastics, biomedical items, separators, binders for Li ion batteries, fuel cell membranes, piezoelectric devices, high-quality wires cables, so forth. Usually, are synthesized by conventional radical (co)polymerization fluoroalkenes, production (co)polymers with an ill-defined end group, uncontrolled molar mass, dispersity values. In last two decades, significant developments various reversible deactivation polymerization (RDRP) techniques helped design macromolecular architectures (including block, graft, star, dendrimers) on demand. However, relevant new applications, well-defined controlled (e.g., block copolymers thermoplastic elastomers electroactive or graft membranes) required. Several RDRP methods, developed paved way synthesis dispersity, chain end-functionality, architectures. Some been successfully employed fluorinated copolymers. These include iodine-transfer (ITP), addition–fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization, organometallic-mediated (OMRP), and, lesser extent, nitroxide-mediated (NMP). Impressive control mass parameters via also encouraged researchers combine other postpolymerization strategies, leading innovative novel polymeric materials. Thus, exhibited combination (such weather resistance, thermal/chemical/aging morphological versatility, dielectric constant/flammability/refractive index). led application materials high-technology high-performance elastomers, coatings marine antifouling surfactants, gel polymer electrolytes batteries. Newer advances field need hour order synthesize more advanced may change use engineering fields current century. it should be kept mind that success this regard shall heavily depend deeper understanding process structure–activity relationships.

Down Syndrome: Current Status, Challenges and Future Perspectives
Down syndrome (DS) is a birth defect with huge medical and social costs, caused by trisomy of whole or part of chromosome 21. It is the most prevalent genetic disease worldwide and the common genetic cause of intellectual disabilities appearing in about 1 in 400-1500 newborns. Although the syndrome had been described thousands of years before, it was named after John Langdon Down who described ...

متن کاملPlant Secretomes: Current status and future perspectives
Plant secreted proteins have biological functions which are important in the formation of cell walls, cellular communication, and defense against pathogens. We analyzed 1704 secreted proteins from a total of 22513 plant proteins, all of which were manually curated and annotated in the UniProt database. Of the secreted plant proteins analyzed, 55% and 13% are curated from Arabidopsis thaliana an...
متن کاملMedical Imaging: Current status and future perspectives
Medical imaging is often thought of as a way of viewing anatomical structures of the body. Indeed, x-ray computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging yield exquisitely detailed images of such structures. It is often useful, however, to acquire images of physiologic function rather than of anatomy. Such images can be acquired by imaging the decay of radioisotopes bound to molecules with kn...
متن کاملCongenital hyperinsulinism: current status and future perspectives
The diagnosis and treatment of congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI) have made a remarkable progress over the past 20 years and, currently, it is relatively rare to see patients who are left with severe psychomotor delay. The improvement was made possible by the recent developments in the understanding of the molecular and pathological basis of CHI. Known etiologies include inactivating mutations of...
