چکیده

High cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness are often associated with lower body fat mass. Age-associated increases in mass might be attenuated by maintaining a higher level of into middle-age. PURPOSE: This study aimed to compare the individuals who have maintained during adulthood those had substantial and/or decreases adulthood. METHODS: Obese, overweight, non-obese adults were recruited participate. Long-term health weight history was collected retrospectively on 79 individuals. Total composition, maximal oxygen consumption, grip strength, isometric knee extension strength measured. Participants subsequently categorized based short term long-term loss history, fitness, muscle function for further analysis. RESULTS: (31 Male, 45 female, aged 41.0 ± 12.3 years) 29.2 10.1% having gained 9.3 11.7 kg since 20 years age. Current as indicated relative consumption 36.6 12.0 ml*kg-1*min-1. No significant relationship existed between gain age current (r = -0.12). differences observed after classification participants high vs. low nor fitness. CONCLUSIONS: independent past history. Despite limitations retrospective analysis inability determine previous levels these results imply that not protective against age-associated increases, but also destine an individual larger than normal gains

OBJECTIVE Lower birth weight is associated with higher insulin resistance in later life. The aim of this study was to determine whether cardiorespiratory fitness modifies the association of birth weight with insulin resistance in adults. METHODS The subjects were 379 Japanese individuals (137 males, 242 females) aged 20-64 years born after 1943. Insulin resistance was assessed using a homeost...

Association Between Midlife Cardiorespiratory Fitness and Risk of Stroke

Stroke remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality. In the United States, stroke remains the third leading cause of death and a common reason for hospitalization, accounting for >$28 billion in direct medical costs annually. Several previous studies have demonstrated an inverse relationship between cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and both fatal and nonfatal stroke. However, the...

The association between cardiorespiratory fitness and cardiovascular risk in adolescents.

OBJECTIVE Maximum oxygen uptake is emerging as the measure of preference for expressing cardiorespiratory fitness for the purposes of surveys of physical activity, due to its greater objectivity and lower propensity to errors. Studies indicate that this measure is better correlated with cardiovascular diseases. This paper proposes to relate cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents with their ...
