Weed Competition on Soybean Varieties from Different Relative Maturity Groups

چکیده

One factor limiting the achievement of high yields in soybean crop is weed interference. The level interference can vary according to specificities community but also due agronomic characteristics varieties. objective this work was evaluate effects on varieties different relative maturity groups (RMG). A field experiment implemented a randomized complete block design, 3 × 4 factorial scheme, with five replications. treatments were composed BMX Flecha® (RMG 6.6), Power® 7.3), and Bônus® 7.9), associated following four managements: weeding throughout cycle; weeded up 20 days after emergence (DAE); DAE until end not entire cycle. There no interaction between management for speed index, plant height, chlorophyll, first pod height insertion, population, thousand-grain weight yield. initial caused changes composition community. managements cycle provided higher levels chlorophyll grain without during negatively influenced yield components. Late interventions control, regardless variety, result losses.

Resistance in Soybean Cultivars from Maturity Groups V-VIII to Soybean Cyst and Root-knot Nematodes.

One hundred thirty-nine cultivars of soybean (Glycine max) in Maturity Groups V, VI, VII, and VIII were evaluated in a greenhouse for resistance to Heterodera glycines races 3 and 14 and Meloidogyne incognita, M. arenaria, and M. javanica. Of the cultivars tested, 37% had resistance to H. glycines race 3 alone, 12% had resistance to both races 3 and 14, and 69% exhibited a moderate or high leve...

Maturity Group Classification and Maturity Locus Genotyping of Early-Maturing Soybean Varieties from High-Latitude Cold Regions

BACKGROUND With the migration of human beings, advances of agricultural sciences, evolution of planting patterns and global warming, soybeans have expanded to both tropical and high-latitude cold regions (HCRs). Unlike other regions, HCRs have much more significant and diverse photoperiods and temperature conditions over seasons or across latitudes, and HCR soybeans released there show rich div...

Genetic variation of world soybean maturity date and geographic distribution of maturity groups

The maturity date of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is sensitive to photoperiod, which varies with latitude and growing seasons. The maturity group (MG) system, composed of 13 MGs, is a major approach in characterizing varieties' ecological properties and adaptable areas. A total of 512 world soybean varieties, including 48 MG checks, were tested at a major site (Nanjing, 32.04°N) with portio...

Relative Commutator Theory in Varieties of Ω-groups

We introduce a new notion of commutator which depends on a choice of subvariety in any variety of Ω-groups. We prove that this notion encompasses Higgins’s commutator, Fröhlich’s central extensions and the Peiffer commutator of precrossed modules.

Toxic Weed Seed Contaminants in Soybean Processing

Soybeans are subject to potential contamination from toxic weed seeds during harvest, transportation and storage. The more common foreign seeds include those from jimsonweed, cocklebur, nightshade, cowcockle, corncockle, morning glory, castor, pokeweed, and crotalaria. This review addresses itself to the chemistry and toxic principles of these contaminants. Since jimsonweed seeds are probably t...
