Wealth Inequality and Institutional Development: Macroeconometric Evidence from a Global Sample

Abstract This paper examines the empirical relationship between institutions, particularly financial and wealth inequality using a global panel data set for period 2010–2016. We conduct dynamic econometric analysis of these relationships based on Credit Suisse World Bank data. Our results reveal that control corruption government effectiveness do not have statistically significant effects inequality. However, findings indicate an unfavourable effect domestic credit as measured by Gini coefficient wealth. The long-run is persistent cumulates over time. also find evidence one hand, inflation rate, employment in agriculture expenditure other. imply policy makers need to re-examine role rules intermediation sector address issue equal opportunities.
