Lecture 4 : Generic fibers of deformation rings
Fix ρ : GQ,S → GL2(k) absolutely irreducible, and let ρ : GQ,S → GL2(R) be the universal deformation. We’re interested in the map R → Tm for some Hecke algebra defined in terms of ρ. Note that the Hecke algebra is 1-dimensional, and even finite free over Zp. The universal deformation ring R, however, often has dimension > 1 and nonzero p-torsion. In other words, the surjection R ։ Tm is not eve...
متن کاملFrobenius kernel and Wedderburn's little theorem
We give a new proof of the well known Wedderburn's little theorem (1905) that a finite division ring is commutative. We apply the concept of Frobenius kernel in Frobenius representation theorem in finite group theory to build a proof.
متن کاملThe Extension Theorem for Bi-invariant Weights over Frobenius Rings and Frobenius Bimodules
We give a sufficient condition for a bi-invariant weight on a Frobenius bimodule to satisfy the extension property. This condition applies to bi-invariant weights on a finite Frobenius ring as a special case. The complex-valued functions on a Frobenius bimodule are viewed as a module over the semigroup ring of the multiplicative semigroup of the coefficient ring.
متن کاملSEMI-POSITIVITY AND FROBENIUS CRYSTALS On Semi-Positivity and Filtered Frobenius Crystals
The purpose of this paper is to prove that certain subquotients of the MF∇-objects of Faltings ([1]) are semi-positive. In particular, we obtain an algebraic proof of a result (generalizing those of [5], [9]) on the semi-positivity of the higher direct images of certain kinds of sheaves for semistable families of algebraic varieties. Our Main Theorem, proven in §3, is as follows: Theorem 3.4: L...
متن کاملRings of Frobenius operators
Let R be a local ring of prime characteristic. We study the ring of Frobenius operators F(E), where E is the injective hull of the residue field of R. In particular, we examine the finite generation of F(E) over its degree zero component F0(E), and show that F(E) need not be finitely generated when R is a determinantal ring; nonetheless, we obtain concrete descriptions of F(E) in good generalit...
