چکیده

Wave climate over the North Indian Ocean region experienced a paradigm shift in recent past, indicating an increase extremes. Wind-waves and swell climatology have shown increasing trend this region, having direct implications on coastal zone dynamics surrounding mainland island features. The present study aims to investigate wave–current-surge interaction characteristics shallow continental shelf between India Sri Lanka using state-of-art coupled ADCIRC-SWAN model. Report of a Physical Oceanography Research Project over the Southern Continental Shelf of the Caspian Sea

Abstract The study presents monthly variations of seawater properties, monitoring water column stability and stratification over the southern shelf of the Caspian Sea which depends on collecting data. Field measurements were carried out during 13 cruises along the southern boundary of the sea. Spatial and temporal distributions of temperature, salinity and density were investigated. Monthl...

Summertime cooling of the shallow continental shelf

[1] In summer on the shallow New England continental shelf, near the coast the water temperature is much cooler than the observed surface heat flux suggests. Using depth‐integrated heat budgets in 12 and 27 m water depth calculated from observed surface heat flux, water temperature, and velocity, we demonstrate that on time scales of weeks to months the water is persistently cooled due to a mea...
