چکیده
This paper presents the results from a numerical simulation study to investigate wave trapping by series of trapezoidal porous submerged breakwaters near vertical breakwater, as well seabed response around breakwater. An integrated model, based on volume-averaged Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (VARANS) equations is developed simulate flow field, while dynamic Biot’s are used for simulating wave-induced response. The reflection energy over breakwaters, caused can be reserved, indicating that existence in front breakwater either provide shelter or worsen hazards Numerical examples show two different modes under Fabry–Pérot (F–P) resonance condition transformation, namely (Mode 1) and 2). distance between key parameter dominating local hydrodynamic process resultant stresses indicated more higher porosity will obviously dissipate energy, hence induce smaller force rear liquefaction area

Wave Reflection at Submerged Breakwaters
Several types of structures are used in Coastal Engineering with the aim of preventing shoreline erosion, such as groynes, detached breakwaters, submerged breakwaters, etc. Submerged breakwaters have the advantage of their minimal visual impact, which has made them ever more popular (Chang & Liou, 2007). When the incoming waves impinge on a submerged breakwater, a process of energy transformati...
متن کاملWave-Structure Interaction for Submerged Quarter-Circle Breakwaters of Different Radii - Reflection Characteristics
The paper presents the results of a series of experiments conducted on physical models of Quarter-circle breakwater (QBW) in a two dimensional monochromatic wave flume. The purpose of the experiments was to evaluate the reflection coefficient Kr of QBW models of different radii (R) for different submergence ratios (d/hc), where d is the depth of water and hc is the height of the breakwater cres...
متن کاملNumerical modelling of induced rip currents by discontinuous submerged breakwaters
Submerged breakwaters are one of the shore protective structures. Any discontinuity in these breakwaters causes changes on current parameters including speed and water surface profile. In this paper, discontinuous submerged breakwaters were modelled to investigate the changes in the wave and flow pattern. To investigate the phenomenon, three models including a shore with constant slope, a shore ...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Solitary Wave Induced Flow Motion around a Permeable Submerged Breakwater
This paper presents a numerical model for the simulation of solitary wave transformation around a permeable submerged breakwater. The wave-structure interaction is obtained by solving the Volume-Averaged Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes governing equations VARANS and volume of fluid VOF theory. This model is applied to understand the effects of porosity, equivalent mean diameter of porous media,...
