Wave Energy Resource Assessment for Small-Scale WEC near a Harbour

Accurate evaluations of the available and technically exploitable wave energy resources are fundamental to optimise design implementation converters in marine environment. However, long-term resource assessments have been primarily conducted for large-scale devices offshore energetic locations, thus ignoring onshore sites such as harbours with easier access, installation accessibility devices. Here, we a ten-year evaluation performance (WECs) off Roscoff harbour (northern Brittany, France). As site application shows moderately conditions, particular attention was dedicated small-scale WECs by adapting ratings local climate. This investigation combined (i) high-spatial resolution (~5 m) hindcast database established SWAN (ii) generic specific WEC performance.
