چکیده

The availability of freshwater is one the biggest limitations and challenges food production, as an increasingly scarce overexploited resource in many parts world. Therefore, concept water footprint (WF) has gained increasing interest, same way that generation loss waste (FLW) production consumption become a social political concern. Along this line, number studies on WF sector currently all over world, analyzing scarcity degradation single indicator or so-called profile. In Spain, there no study assessing influence FLW along whole supply chain nor different management options regarding chain’s WF. This aimed to assess spatially differentiated profile for 17 Spanish regions time, potential linkages degradation. assessment considered compliance non-compliance with Paris Agreement targets was based life cycle approach. Results are highlighted framework; scenarios found anaerobic digestion aerobic composting (to lesser extent) had lowest burdens, while thermal treatment highest impact. Additionally, north Spain islands were less influenced by type targets.
