Waste to Energy Technologies for Municipal Solid Waste Management in Bangladesh: A Comprehensive Review

Bangladesh has an impressive track record of development and been among the fastest growing economies in world over past decade, supported by a demographic dividend, strong ready-made garment (RMG) exports, remittance, stable macroeconomic conditions. With growth populace living standards, goods energy consumption are seen to be increased which rises waste generation. Thus, municipal management (MSW) supply becoming great challenges for Bangladesh. Waste (WTE) conversion technologies would very timely solution ever-growing problem. These environment-friendly cost effective; however, these not popular within developing country This paper discusses current status, significant progresses future prospect solid process as well evaluates best possible WTE technology suitable It is found that produces approximately 13,332 tons MSW per day almost 26% 12% total wastes generated its capital city, Dhaka Chattogram, respectively. The incineration electricity production most effective Chattogram city.
